Press release: First Release 3rd March 2021 Second release: 01/06/2021
Howdy Y’all.
At Smoke & Fire Festival, we have been exploring all the options following the government’s roadmap release and what it means for our festivals. We have held discussions with our friends, partners and local authorities to help us make the best and safest decision regarding Smoke & Fire Festivals.
The government’s new roadmap indicates that significant events should be possible from the 21st of June at the earliest. However, this would be subject to any conditions or restrictions imposed by the government or Public Health England. Additionally, the Events Research Programme launches in April and should be published around the 14th of June. Therefore, the risk to us as an event organiser should we have to cancel at the last minute is potentially catastrophic.
Therefore it is with great reluctance and disappointment that we must announce that we are postponing three of the proposed Smoke & Fire Festivals for 2021.
These are:
Southport
Postponed until 17th-19th June 2022
Hastings
Postponed new date to be TBA
Weston-super-Mare
Postponed until 9th-11th September 2022
We really appreciate all the support you and all our friends have given us over the past few months, and we did not take this decision lightly.
Ticket holders of the three postponed dates, you have three options:
- You can hang on to your tickets as they will be carried forward and valid for next year
- You are welcome to come to Smoke & Fire Festival East (Colchester, Essex), where your tickets will be valid
- Finally, you an entitled to a full refund less any agency fees
We are already working with our partners and suppliers to bring all our festivals back bigger and better to you next summer…so stay tuned!
So, from all of the Smoke & Fire Festival Team,
Keep Calm and BBQ on, we will MEAT again; you can count on it!
